When We Are Closed
The GP Out of Hours Service provides urgent medical care or advice when the surgery is closed. GP Out of Hours provides service Mondays to Fridays between 6.30pm and 8.00am, and on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
You should call the Out of Hours service when the Practice is closed and you either have an urgent health care problem, or feel that the problem cannot safely wait until the next routine surgery. Phone the practice outside of office hours on 0151 630 2080. You will hear a recorded message giving you a number to call for help.
Alternatively, call the GP Out of Hours Service on 0151 678 8496. Please note that GP Out of Hours is not a drop-in service; you must phone first.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
